What exactly am I being charged for?

Every message sent through Volero consumes tokens — the text you send and the response you receive. You're billed for how many tokens you use, the models used to generate the response, and any add-ons triggered like web search or memory retrieval. There are no seat fees or monthly minimums.

How do I know what my bill will be before it arrives?

Admins have a dashboard to see real-time usage so there are no surprises at the end of the month. You can also set a monthly spending cap, which Volero will warn you as you approach it and stop processing requests when you hit it, so you're never charged more than you authorize.

Why does the bill vary month to month?

Because your team's usage varies. A busy project month costs more than a quiet one. That's the point. You're not paying for 100 seats in December when half your team is on holiday.

What's the difference in cost between models?

Significant. A message using a budget model costs a fraction of one using a premium model like Claude Opus or GPT-4o. Your team can choose whichever model fits the task. Quick questions don't need a premium model, and your bill will reflect that.

Does every employee cost the same?

No. A power-user sending 50 messages a day costs more than one who sends 5, or none at all. You only pay for actual activity.

What counts as a message?

Each time a user sends a prompt and receives a response, that's one message. Follow-ups in the same conversation each count separately.

Does web search cost extra?

Yes. When Volero searches the web to answer a question, that triggers an additional charge on top of the message cost. You can see this broken out in your usage dashboard.

Yes. When Volero retrieves context from your organization's knowledge base or past conversations to inform a response, that retrieval carries a small additional charge.

Is there a limit on the number of files we can upload?

Each organization is limited to 5GB of total documents. That's loosely equivalent to about 25,000 files, so most teams don't need to worry about it.

Yes. Every new organization starts with $5 of free usage, no card required. That's enough to run real workflows and see what Volero costs at your team's actual usage pattern before you commit.

What happens if we go over our cap?

Volero stops processing new requests until the cap is raised or the billing period resets. Admins get an email warning before you hit the limit so you can act before any disruption.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Organizations are minimally required to pay for storing files and memories, as they are stored by companies we pay. However, we make it easy for you to use Volero for one month and walk away.

How does billing work for the whole org?
